air compressor
Category: Workshop
I thought about use PEX but went with standard 1/2 iron pipe. Long lengths of pipe cool air and help get water out of line. PEX is insulated and would not help cool air. The long lines of iron pipe are my number one defense against water in line. Slanted iron pipe, inverted U bends and water drains run across ceiling.
I did install a cross over system so that I could get full pressure and volume for sand blasting.
I highly recommend the HI flow connectors. The will still connect the older style but have a quick connect push in with out pulling collar back.
$8 walmart hi flow connector. Compatible with both kinds of connecors
3HP compressor. I did not need the volume or the flow but the noise of the other style was murder.
7$ Harbor freight automatic water drain.
$8 per ball valve drain. Drains on slanted 1/2 iron pipe every slant
As many means as possible to Drain water. Capture water, filter air. Long lengths of iron pipe.
Cross over arrangement so that I can get full volume and pressure when sandblasting
